Speciality GP in the areas of women’s and infant health.
Speciality GP in the areas of women’s and infant health.
Q: Who can book in?
A: I offer consults to people who identify as female, and people who were born with female reproductive organs. I openly welcome intersex and transgender patients, and reassure them that will be seen in a respectful, supportive and understanding environment.
Q: What conditions do you commonly see women for?
A: I offer care for a range of women’s health, antenatal health, and infant health such as:
* Period problems - irregular or heavy cycles, painful periods, bleeding between periods
* Vulval and vaginal problems - itch, discharge, odour, skin changes
* Pre-pregnancy planning, tests and health optimisation
* Contraception options including implants and IUD’s
* Breast checks
* Antenatal care, including shared-care with your local public hospital
* Infant health
* Menopause and peri-menopause management
* Perimenstrual mood changes and mental health concerns
* Medical termination of pregnancy (or just a non-judgemental ear to chat about all the options if you’re not sure)
Q: Can I see you as my ’regular’ GP?
A: I will always recommend my patients to have a ‘regular’ GP of their own. Due to the focused nature of my scope of practice, I want you to have access to someone who can help look after your other health concerns. The list above can help you check if your concern is something I can help with. If in doubt - please book in to see me, and we can discuss a plan of action.
Dr. Elise Turner is an experienced specialty Women’s Health GP, practicing medicine on the Gold Coast since 2013. She has particular focus on women's health, antenatal care, child health, period problems, menopause, and medical weight management. Please see the FAQ section for more on her areas of specialty.
Please note - Dr Elise does not offer ‘general’ GP services. By dedicating her practice to these particular areas, she can stay updated with the latest advancements, research, and best practices. This focused approach enables her to provide more comprehensive and specialised care to women.
It's important to note that patients seeking general medical care will need to continue to see their regular GP. Dr Elise is a strong believer in a team approach, and will always ensure correspondence reaches your regular practitioner following our consultation.
Beyond the clinic, Dr. Elise enjoys being a mother to both furry and human children (and a few chooks). She is also an amateur apiarist (that‘a beekeeping - check out her Instagram profile for more on this!). Additionally, she finds joy in tending to her vegetable garden and baking sweet treats (let’s be honest - mostly just eating the sweet treats).
Dr Elise Turner is a privately billing doctor.
Fees vary between practices and appointment types.
